Remember Newton's Law, not the fig cookies...
This week, DJ talks about how pickleball can help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Stay in motion. Its good for you!
Play pickleball to keep your body in motion.
Newton's first law can be summarized as follows: an object in motion tends to stay in motion, an object at rest tends to stay at rest.
Did you know that pickleball is a great way to keep your body in motion? You're moving your arms and legs and getting your heart rate up. It's good exercise! When it comes to your physical makeup, the old adage is true- use it or lose it.
Sure, pickleball is fun. But you may also want to enjoy the health benefits because the game itself requires you to keep your body in motion.
I had a college professor in her 70's who used to challenge us to walk or bike rather than drive for short distances across campus. Miss Baker lived out this advice. She was an avid skier and walker and jogger and general fitness enthusiast. She would often quote, "I would rather wear out than rust out!"
Remember that it's easier to stay in motion if you have maintained that momentum. Don't stop moving or else you'll find it more difficult to start up again once you've come to rest for too long. By the way, anyone else notice that it is much easier to get out of shape and takes longer to get into shape as you age? (That's a rhetorical question!) It's another reason to keep exercising. Don't quit. Try to have fun with it. So enjoy your pickleball and keep your body in motion!
Keep moving. Keep playing. Keep reppin'!
