New Venue for Outdoor Play - Cummings Cove

Cummings Cove is a private club in a gated community, in Henderson County, between Horse Shoe and Etowah. The pickleball courts have been made available for guests to play with members on Wednesdays during the months of July – September. There are 2 courts, 3 time slots (9 - Noon, 1 - 4 p.m. and 5 - 8 p.m.) and a $5.00 charge per person. To make arrangements to play contact one of the representatives below, and state the date and time you would like to play.

The opportunity for guests to play is subject to member and time slot availability. Upon booking with a member, guests will be given a code to access the facility via Hebron Road Construction gate.  The Cummings Cove Pickleball Club (CCPC) looks forward to hosting guests for competitive, outdoor, round robin type play. This offer is for 3.5 level and above competitive players. CCPC representatives include: Paul Aaron: ncpitt@gmail.com Kathleen Watkins skookumbob@outlook.com and Sandro Francioni sfrancioni53@hotmail.com
Cummings Cove has 2 pickleball courts which are located on an asphalt tennis court. Lines are permanently painted with a temporary indoor net system.

The
Cummings Cove website describes the community as follows:

Cradled in the lap of the Blue Ridge Mountains and sheltered by the Great Smokies to the west, Cummings Cove enjoys a mild climate where spring and fall are long and colorful, winter is short and summer invites you to sit on the porch and sip lemonade. Our quiet, gated community is so relaxing, some people come for the summer and never leave.

If too much tranquility scares you, don't worry - there's a lot to do. With 650 acres, 18 holes of golf, tennis, pool, restaurant and clubhouse activities, you don't have time to be bored.
But we all like variety. Within 15 minutes, you can be in a fine restaurant or art gallery in downtown Hendersonville, at the Flat Rock Playhouse (North Carolina's State Theater) or at the Brevard Music Center with internationally renowned performers.

Within
30 minutes, you can be in Asheville where the "Urban Trail" takes you on a walk through time to examine its rich literary and architectural history while exploring a wealth of shops, restaurants and galleries. Within 15 minutes, the sky is the limit with Asheville Airport, an easy link to any destination. Come to Cummings Cove - where you can have it all. From a getaway place to a custom home, we can fulfill your dream.

Cummings Cove has a full-service restaurant on-site that is open to the public so any visit can meet all your needs. The Carolina Bistro opening was recently highlighted in an article in the Times-News, with excerpts shown below:

Carolina Bistro opens at Cummings Cove

...The updated menu flaunts down-home, slaw-topped dogs and spring mixes with walnuts, assorted berries and briny feta. Pub fare offers a casual dining and social tavern-like feel, but New York strip and flame-broiled citrus chicken harken back to the restaurant’s posh inception.

Prices are reasonable all the same, with appetizers starting at $5 and
entrees topping out in the mid-$20s. The honey-glazed salmon, a best seller, goes for $15.99.

Bivens
expects the Bistro to develop into a Friday night favorite for homeowners in the Cummings Cove community and foodies in the surrounding area. An outdoor stage has even been erected for a free concert series running from July to November. “Shindigs on the Green” similar to the Folk Heritage Committee’s weekly odes to the tradition of bluegrass will also be held...

Carolina Bistro is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 828-891-3035.
